This is how heated socks work
Do your feet always get cold? Then heated socks or electric socks are really a godsend. They keep your feet wonderfully warm wherever you are: on a winter walk, on your bike or even at home on the couch. One press of a button and the heating system does the rest. But how do these socks with heating actually work?
How heated socks work
Using heated socks
Each heated sock features a built-in heat system that is is completely invisibly integrated into the fabric into the fabric. This system spreads heat evenly over your feet, making cold toes a thing of the past. Turning it on and off is easy via the button on the sock itself. As soon as you press this for a few seconds, the highest heating setting switches on and you will feel the heat increase within a few minutes.
The battery
At the top of the sock is a special pocket in which you can store the rechargeable battery. This battery easily connects to the cable of the heating system. Thanks to its clever placement, you hardly feel the battery while wearing it; you just put the sock on like any other sock.
Thanks to their compact size and light weight, the batteries are resistant to freezing temperatures. This keeps your feet pleasantly warm even in extreme conditions.
The heat system
The heating system consists of ultra-thin heat conductors made of copper and carbon. Because carbon fibers are extremely flexible and strong, they move smoothly with the fabric without being felt. As a result, the heat spreads from the top of the foot to the toes – exactly where you are most likely to feel the cold.
The result: natural, comfortable warmth that doesn’t feel too hot but is just right.
How long do your feet stay warm?
The runtime depends on several factors:
- Ambient temperature: the colder it is, the harder the battery has to work.
- The heat setting selected: the higher the setting, the faster the battery runs out.
- Battery capacity: our standard batteries (7.4 V – 2600 mAh) provide an average of 5 hours of heat.
Roughly speaking, you can count on 2 to 9 hours of warmth, depending on conditions. If you want to enjoy

The heat modes
Our heated socks feature three heat settings: low, medium and high.
- The highest setting is perfect for quickly warming your feet when they are freezing cold.
- Use the middle and lowest settings to retain heat.
While hiking or skiing, you can easily adjust the temperature according to the conditions. This way, you always enjoy the right amount of warmth.
