What should you look for when choosing between heated socks?

The best heated sock is not chosen based on warmth alone. It mainly depends on the combination of shoe space, intended use, thickness, control and desired heating time. A thick heated sock retains warmth better, but it does not fit every shoe. A thin heated sock adds less extra volume and is therefore more comfortable in shoes that fit more closely.

Thick heated socks for boots and roomier shoes

Thick heated socks

Thick heated socks feel extra warm and comfortable and are especially suitable for shoes with enough space. Think of ski boots, winter boots, motorcycle boots, work boots and roomy hiking shoes.

Our thicker models are PRO and POWER.

Thin heated socks for trainers and narrower shoes

Thin heated socks

Thin heated socks are more comfortable in shoes with less space. Think of trainers, cycling shoes, skates, formal shoes or ski boots where you want to keep more feel and control.

Our thinner models are ACTIVE THIN, THIN and ULTRA THIN.

Which heated sock suits you best?

Heated socks for skiing and winter sports

For skiing and winter sports

Do you have enough space in your ski boots and do you want maximum warmth? Then the PRO is the warmest choice. Do you want a warm, thicker heated ski sock without a remote control? Then POWER is a good fit. Do you want more shoe feel or less volume in your ski boot? Then choose ACTIVE THIN instead.

Heated socks for walking and active outdoor use

For walking and active outdoor use

For walking, cycling and active outdoor use, a good balance between warmth and fit is important. The ACTIVE THIN is often the best choice for this: a high, thin outdoor model with remote control and 6W heating power per sock.

Heated socks for everyday use and trainers

For everyday use

Do you mainly wear the socks at home, at the office, during a walk or in regular low shoes? Then THIN is often a pleasant choice. This sock is thin, soft and suitable for everyday use.

Heated socks for road cycling shoes, cycling shoes and narrow shoes

For narrow shoes

Do you have little space in your shoes, for example in road cycling shoes, cycling shoes, skates or formal shoes? Then ULTRA THIN is the best choice. This is our thinnest heated sock model.

Material, thickness and comfort

The material also makes a difference. Some models are designed for extra warmth and support, while other models are made to be as thin and flexible as possible. That is why it is important to look not only at warmth, but also at the type of shoe in which you want to wear the sock.

PRO, POWER and ACTIVE THIN

These models are made from 70% Coolmax®, 25% spandex and 5% elastane. Coolmax® helps wick away moisture and provides a firm, comfortable sock. PRO and POWER are thicker; ACTIVE THIN is higher and thinner for active use.

THIN

The THIN is made from 68% bamboo viscose, 20% elastane and 12% spandex. This sock feels soft and is comfortable for everyday use in low or regular shoes.

ULTRA THIN

The ULTRA THIN is our thinnest model and is designed for shoes where adding as little extra volume as possible is important. Ideal for trainers, cycling shoes, skates and formal shoes with limited space.

Choose low or high heated socks?

Low heated socks

Low heated socks

Low models come to well above the ankle and are especially practical for low shoes and some higher hiking shoes. The battery sits at the top of the sock, around the ankle. In high boots or ski boots, the battery or battery holder may press against the shoe.

Our low models are THIN and ULTRA THIN.

High heated socks

High heated socks

High models extend further up the lower leg and are therefore more comfortable in ski boots, boots, motorcycle boots and hiking shoes. They stay in place better and often provide a more enclosed feeling of warmth.

Our high models are PRO, POWER and ACTIVE THIN.

Warmth, 7.4V and wattage: what does it really mean?

All HeatPerformance® heated socks work with compact 7.4V lithium-ion batteries. The heating power differs per model: PRO and ACTIVE THIN have 6W per sock, POWER has 5.5W per sock, and THIN and ULTRA THIN have 5W per sock. Heat performance

Warmest choice

The PRO is our warmest heated sock. This is due to the combination of 6W heating power per sock, a thicker sock construction and the convenience of remote control.

Insulation and material layers

Thin, but powerful

The ACTIVE THIN also has 6W per sock, but is thinner than the PRO. As a result, it feels lighter and gives more shoe feel, while still heating powerfully around the toes and forefoot.

Battery and heating power

It is not only about mAh

With heated socks, the number of mAh does not tell you everything about warmth. Also look at voltage, wattage, sock thickness, shoe space and insulation. A high battery capacity is useful, but the heating system determines how much warmth is actually delivered.

Cold feet, chilblains or Raynaud’s?

Heated socks can be comfortable if you quickly get cold feet, are sensitive to cold or often spend time outdoors in cold conditions. People with chilblains or Raynaud’s phenomenon also often look for ways to keep their feet warmer.

HeatPerformance® heated socks are intended as a warming product and not as a medical device. In case of medical conditions, diabetes, sensory disorders, serious circulation problems or persistent pain, always consult your doctor.

Frequently asked questions about comparing heated socks

Which heated socks are the warmest?

The PRO is our warmest heated sock. This model has 6W heating power per sock, a thicker sock construction and remote control. This makes the PRO especially suitable for prolonged cold, roomier shoes, boots and ski boots.

Which heated socks are suitable for ski boots?

For ski boots, PRO, POWER and ACTIVE THIN are usually the most suitable. PRO is the warmest choice if there is enough space. POWER is a warm, thicker heated ski sock without remote control. ACTIVE THIN is thinner and more comfortable if you want to keep more shoe feel.

Which heated socks are the thinnest?

The ULTRA THIN is our thinnest heated sock model. This model is especially suitable for shoes with little space, such as trainers, cycling shoes, skates and formal shoes.

What is the difference between PRO and POWER?

PRO is our warmest heated sock and has 6W per sock plus remote control. POWER is also a warm, thicker sock, but has 5.5W per sock and no remote control. Choose PRO for maximum warmth and convenience. Choose POWER if you are looking for a warm, thicker sock without remote control.

What is the difference between ACTIVE THIN and PRO?

ACTIVE THIN and PRO both have 6W heating power per sock and remote control, but they are designed for different uses. PRO is thicker and warmer because of the sock construction. ACTIVE THIN is thinner, higher and more focused on active outdoor use and shoes with slightly less space.

What is the difference between THIN and ULTRA THIN?

THIN and ULTRA THIN both have 5W heating power per sock. THIN feels slightly fuller and is comfortable for everyday use in low or regular shoes. ULTRA THIN is the thinnest model and is especially suitable when you want as little extra volume as possible in your shoe.

Which heated socks have a remote control?

The PRO and ACTIVE THIN come with remote control. POWER, THIN and ULTRA THIN are controlled with the button on the sock.

Where is the heating located in the socks?

The heat conductors are located around the toes and forefoot, exactly where cold is often felt first. By placing the heat precisely there, the sock remains more comfortable and unnecessary extra volume under the entire foot is avoided.
