Why choose HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN heated socks?
The HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN heated socks have been developed for everyday use in low-cut shoes. This is our thinnest model among our heated socks: ideal for people who quickly get cold feet, but who do not want to or cannot wear thick socks in their shoes, for example in trainers, cycling shoes, skates or smart shoes.
Thanks to their low-cut, ultra-thin design, the ULTRA THIN are our most discreet choice for shoes where fit is especially important. The sock provides targeted warmth around the toes and forefoot, exactly where cold is often felt first.
The heated socks ULTRA THIN use a 7.4V heating system with 5W heat output per sock and compact rechargeable batteries. This gives you up to 7–8 hours of warmth on the lowest setting. Use the highest setting to warm up cold feet quickly, then switch back to medium or low to keep the warmth for longer.
As thin as possible, with comfortable warmth
With the ULTRA THIN, the goal is simple: warmth without unnecessary bulk. The premium bamboo blend feels soft on the skin and sits comfortably around the foot. The thin, flexible heating elements are carefully integrated behind a soft inner lining, so you feel pleasant warmth around the toes without noticing hard heating wires.
Which shoes are the ULTRA THIN heated socks suitable for?
The ULTRA THIN are especially suitable for shoes that fit a little tighter, or for shoes in which you prefer not to wear thick heated socks.
| Shoe | Do the ULTRA THIN fit? | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Trainers or normal shoes | Very suitable | A good choice if you want warm feet in shoes with limited space. |
| Cycling shoes or road cycling shoes | Often suitable | Check especially whether there is enough space around the toes. |
| Skates | Often suitable | Suitable if you do not want to wear thick socks in your skates. |
| Smart shoes | Sometimes suitable | In very tight shoes, even this thinnest model may still add too much volume. |
| Ski boots, winter boots or high shoes | Not suitable | For high shoes, it is better to choose ACTIVE THIN, PRO or POWER. |
How long do the ULTRA THIN heated socks stay warm?
Each sock works with a rechargeable 7.4V / 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery. Battery life depends on the selected heat setting, the outside temperature, the insulation of your shoes and the age of the battery.
With heated socks, the number of mAh does not tell the whole story about warmth. A 5V power bank with 5000 mAh may look impressive on paper, but warmth is mainly determined by voltage and the actual heating power of the sock. The HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN use a 7.4V heating system with 5W per sock, for noticeable warmth in an ultra-thin model.
The ULTRA THIN have been designed to offer a good balance between an ultra-thin fit, comfortable warmth and practical battery life. Because the sock is thinner and less insulating than our warmer models, it feels lighter in the shoe. At the same time, it retains warmth slightly less long than a thicker model.
| Heat setting | Use | Realistic battery life with 2600 mAh battery |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest setting | For long-lasting, constant warmth | 7–8 hours |
| Medium setting | For cold conditions | 4–6 hours |
| Highest setting | For extra warmth in severe cold | 2.5–3.5 hours |
- For the longest battery life, you can start on the highest setting and then switch back to medium or low.
- The actual battery life depends on outside temperature, shoe insulation, heat setting and battery age.
- A full charge takes about 3 to 4 hours.
- Additional batteries are available separately for longer or consecutive use.

What material are the ULTRA THIN heated socks made from?
- 68% bamboo viscose, 20% elastane and 12% spandex.
- Bamboo viscose feels soft and smooth on the skin, making the sock comfortable for everyday use.
- Elastic fibres allow the sock to stretch well, fit closely around the foot and remain comfortable.
- Ultra-thin design: developed for shoes where you want as little extra volume as possible.
Where are the heating elements located?
The carbon heating elements are located around the toes and forefoot, exactly where cold is often felt first. From this area, the warmth is delivered in a targeted way and gradually spreads further through the foot.
Flexible battery placement with extension cables
The batteries are normally worn in the battery pocket at the top of the sock. Would you rather not wear the batteries in the sock, for example under tighter trousers? You can optionally use extension cables for heated socks and carry the batteries in your trouser pocket, for example.

Frequently asked questions about the ULTRA THIN heated socks
What is the difference between ULTRA THIN, THIN and ACTIVE THIN?
ULTRA THIN is our thinnest heated sock model, with 5W heating power per sock. It is mainly intended for shoes where you want as little extra volume as possible. The THIN model also has 5W per sock, but feels slightly fuller and is comfortable for everyday use in low-cut or normal shoes. The ACTIVE THIN model is higher, more focused on active outdoor use, has a remote control and 6W heating power per sock.
Is ULTRA THIN warmer than THIN?
ULTRA THIN and THIN both have 5W heating power per sock. In practice, THIN often feels slightly fuller and can retain warmth a little longer because the sock is slightly thicker than ULTRA THIN. ULTRA THIN is mainly the best choice when fit and minimal volume are more important.
Are the ULTRA THIN heated socks suitable for ski boots or boots?
No, usually not. ULTRA THIN is a low-cut model with the battery positioned above the ankle. In boots, ski boots or other high shoes, the battery or battery pocket can press against the shoe. For high shoes, it is better to choose ACTIVE THIN, PRO or POWER.
Where are the heating elements located and why not under the entire sole?
The thin carbon heating elements are located around the toes and forefoot, exactly where cold is often felt first. From this area, the warmth is delivered in a targeted way and gradually spreads further through the foot.
We deliberately choose not to heat the entire sole of the foot. That would require more energy from the battery, often make the sock thicker and could become more noticeable under the heel while walking, cycling or skating. By focusing the warmth on the toes and forefoot, the sock remains more comfortable and refined.
How quickly do the ULTRA THIN heated socks warm up?
With the HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN socks, you feel warmth around the toes within about 30 seconds. Use the highest setting to warm up cold feet quickly, then switch back to medium or low to keep the warmth for longer. The exact warmth experience can vary depending on the person, heat setting, shoe and outside temperature.
How long do the batteries of the ULTRA THIN heated socks last?
With the included 7.4V / 2600 mAh batteries, the realistic battery life is about 7–8 hours on the lowest setting, 4–6 hours on the medium setting and 2.5–3.5 hours on the highest setting. The exact battery life depends on the selected setting, outside temperature, shoe insulation and the condition of the batteries.
Why do you use 7.4V batteries instead of standard 5V power banks?
With heated socks, the number of mAh does not tell the whole story about warmth. Many standard power banks work at 5V, while the HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN use a 7.4V heating system with 5W per sock. The actual heating power in watts is more important than battery capacity in mAh alone.
A simple calculation shows this clearly. The ULTRA THIN provide around 5W of heating power per sock at 7.4V. If the same heating element were used at 5V, the power would drop significantly. With the same resistance, the rule is: power = voltage × voltage ÷ resistance.
Example:
- At 7.4V, the system provides around 5W.
- At 5V with the same heating element, it would provide only around 2.3W.
This means that a 5V power bank with a high mAh rating may look impressive on paper, but it does not automatically provide more warmth. A power bank mainly provides power for longer; the heating system determines how much warmth is actually delivered.
That is why we choose compact, rechargeable 7.4V lithium-ion batteries. They are better suited to an ultra-thin heated sock that needs to remain comfortable in low-cut shoes, trainers, cycling shoes, skates or smart shoes, without depending on a large power bank attached to your leg.
Does ULTRA THIN have a remote control?
No, the HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN heated socks do not have a remote control. You set the heat level using the button on the sock.
Can I wear the batteries somewhere other than in the sock?
Yes, with the optional extension cables for heated socks, you can carry the batteries in your trouser pocket, for example. This can be more comfortable if you want less volume around the lower leg or if you wear the sock under tighter clothing.
Are these heated socks suitable for chilblains, rheumatism or Raynaud’s?
Warm feet can be pleasant if you quickly get cold feet, suffer from chilblains or are sensitive to cold, for example because of Raynaud’s phenomenon. The HeatPerformance® ULTRA THIN heated socks are designed as a heat product and are not a medical device. In case of medical conditions, diabetes, sensory disorders or persistent pain, always consult your doctor.
Can I wash the heated socks?
Yes, the heated socks can be washed at a maximum of 30°C. Always remove the batteries before washing the socks. Preferably use a laundry bag and choose a delicate wash programme. Do not use a tumble dryer, bleach or aggressive detergent. Let the socks air dry completely and only reconnect the batteries when the socks and connectors are fully dry.
Warranty
The socks come with a 12-month commercial warranty. The batteries come with a 6-month commercial warranty. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

As I have a heart condition, I find in the winter months that my feet get cold very easily. I also use my mountain bike a lot in the colder months and I can’t get shoe covers to fit over my mountain bike shoes. These socks have been perfect in each case. If I find on particularly cold days in the house that my feet get cold, then I just simply slip on the heated socks and all is well.
The thin socks are ideal for my mountain bike shoes as they are a good fit, and not large enough for thick, wooly socks. So the ultra thin heated socks are not too tight with the shoe. It is great to enjoy my cycling without the distraction of cold feet!
Finally, the three temperature settings is ideal to regulate the heat to my feet!
As an outdoor person with reynards I’ve suffered greatly from cold feet over the years and have tried many types of heated socks . The HeatPerformance lightweight sock has been the most effective I’ve used both for walking and cycling.
The socks arrived and appeared to be well made with discrete heating plug. I had to return the items as for me, the socks were too short in the leg.
My refund was made promptly and handled in a very friendly manner.
